Meet Tessa
Tessa Smith uses an asset-based approach not only in her work with Genysys but also in her work in Higher Education Student Affairs and Human Resources. Tess is a collaborative facilitator and coach focused on helping individuals and teams identify and maximize their strengths in order to navigate challenges and discover ways to thrive. Tess has presented at conferences and universities across the U.S. on topics ranging from identity development to course design. Her professional interests include critical pedagogy, supervision, positive psychology, curriculum design, social justice, and holistic well-being.
Tess is the Director of Higher Education Initiatives at Genysys, focused on developing curriculum and facilitating Strategic Futuring for Student Cohorts.
Tess earned her undergraduate degree in English Education at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a master’s in College Student Personnel, and a master’s in Critical Studies in Education at Ohio University. Currently, Tess works as a Learning and Development Consultant at the Ohio State University and is working on her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs there.
